What is it? Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful skin rash. It is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which is the same virus that causes chickenpox. After a person has had chickenpox, the virus can remain inactive in the body for many years and later reactivate as shingles. The rash usually appears on one side of the face or body and can cause severe pain. Shingles is most commonly seen in people over the age of 50 and those with weakened immune systems.
Great advice. I’m calling my Dr to get one!
